         Millie Martinez, OT/r. Mildreys Martinez has spent the last six years of experience  as an occupational therapist and facility administrator of her own private  practice at Therapy by Design.  She is a devoted advocate for  individualized treatment plans, because she knows the incredible difference  that appropriate interventions offer for people with disabilities.  Her  approach is an interdisciplinary collaboration from therapeutic team members  and caregivers to determine the patient’s needs, concerns, and goals.  Her  determination has increased her knowledge in the areas of policy development,  program development, and financial management as it relates to providing  therapy services. 
       She is both an experienced and practicing occupational  therapist, who received her Occupational Therapy Bachelor’s Degree from Florida A&M University  in 1996.  She has and currently supervises both level I and level II  occupational therapy students, offering them experience in the outpatient  rehabilitation facility and home and school settings. Her goal as a clinical  instructor is to promote ethical/professional behavior while providing quality  service. 
       Millie has practiced in a wide variety of settings,  including hospitals, nursing homes, schools, outpatient rehab facilities, early  intervention, and her own private practice.  She has provided therapy to  both adult and pediatric populations.  Clinical experience with the adult  population is strong in the physical dysfunction area.  She has provided  therapy services to adults diagnosed with Stroke, Parkinson’s, Post Orthopedic  and Neurological Surgeries, Traumatic Brain Injury, Arthritic Conditions, acquired  HIV, Work injuries, and Cardiopulmunary Conditions.  For the past 6 years  , Millie has treated children with special needs with a variety of diagnoses,  such as,  sensory integration dysfunction, delay in sensorimotor skills,  PDD, Autism, cerebral palsy, handwriting difficulties, visual perceptual/visual  motor delay, ADD/ADHD, developmental delay, fine motor delay, learning  disabilities, William’s Syndrome, Downs Syndrome, and other genetic  disorders.   
       Millie is certified in Bioness H200 application and intervention  for clients that have suffered from stroke and spinal cord injuries.  She  has taken many other courses related to injuries, disorders, assessment and  treatment techniques of the disabled client.  Millie is committed to  continuing to advance her skills by taking continuing education courses and  pursuing cutting-edge treatment techniques.   Her goal is to expand  her knowledge in the field of occupational therapy, by taking courses related  to therapeutic listening, handwriting, visual perception, cognition, and  sensory processing, environmental modification, and vision rehabilitation. 
       Millie looks forward to the opportunity of continuing to  grow as a therapist assisting clients being serviced at Therapy by Design. 
  
Janina Cabrera.  Janina  Cabrera acquired her licensure of phonoaudiol ogy at the University  of Cordoba in Argentina, equivalent at Master  degree of science in Speech Language Pathology.  She had up of 14 years of  experience in audiological area such as: to apply  techniques for basic audiologic evaluation, including pure tone testing, speech  audiometry, short Increment sensitive index (SI.S.I), tone decay test and the  clinical application of masking appropriately in a broad population. She also  worked with preschool, scholars, and adult’s population in centers,  hospitals, clinics and home health in Argentina with language delays language  disorders, aphasias, mutism elective, selective, clef palate, and development  delay/disorder.  She also has experience working with children and  adolescent with special needs in based school (Down syndromes, Cerebral palsy,  mental retardation) during more of 2 years, implemented assessments, and  posterior treatments on them. She has a 3 year approximately of experience in  my functional therapy and oral motor assessment, intervention and treatment in  children and adults with decreasing of muscular tone or weakness muscle,  decreasing of his/her nutritional status, incorrect tongue posture, tongue  trust, thumb sucking and other oral habits, and  certain voice disorders related to incorrect tongue rest posture, and some  dysphasia. She also worked with clients with organic-functional  dysphonic, detection, assessment and treatment in those voice problems,  previous specialist’s diagnosis.  She used different techniques and  approaches to each client, according his/her diagnosis, professions,  environmental job and use of the voice.  
  She came to  USA in 2005 at New York due to job  contract.  She worked in Early Intervention Program with children 0  through 3 years old of multicultural background.  She got specialize in  Early intervention Program EIP (0 to 3 year old speech and language assessment  and treatment, FAP Family and partner program. 
  Janina  Cabrera has a Provisional license in Florida  as Speech language pathologist.  Also She License in Phonoaudiology in Argentina  (origin country) with experience professional of up 14 years in areas  Audiology, language, speech and voice.   
  
  LauraK. Furiati, MS CCC-SLP.  Laura K. Furiati received her Masters in Speech  Pathology from Nova   Southeastern University.  She holds a Florida state license and a New York state license  for Speech Pathology. She has her clinical competence certification from the  American Speech Language Hearing Association. Her professional experiences and  interests are in autism (children and adults), augmentative alternative  communication (programming, training and implementation), sensory integration,  language and foreignaccent modification.  Laura is fluent in English,  Spanish and Italian. 
  
  Jenny Quinones. Jennilee Quinones was born in Secaucus, NJ, but was raised and still resides in Hialeah Gardens.  Jennilee has been with Therapy by Design, Inc. since November 2005, where she began working part-time as a receptionist and quickly gained on many more responsibilities and became Office Manager.  Jennilee is also responsible for the billing which is done in house.  Jennilee is also CDA certified, she received this certification in High School.  Prior to working at Therapy by Design, Inc. Jennilee has the experience of working with children ranging in ages 3-13 years old. Jennilee has been balancing school and work since she began her employment at Therapy by Design, Inc.  She is also a student at St.Thomas University majoring in Psychology.  She will graduate in May 2009 with a B.A. in Psychology and will begin the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Keiser University this upcoming August. 
  
  
  
  
  
 Ivette Garcia. Ivette Garcia received her bachelor’s degree in Speech  Language Pathology from Carlos Albizu University of Puerto Rico.  She  hold’s both a Florida and a Puerto   Rico state license for speech language pathology assistant.   Her professional experience includes: early intervention, bilingual  population and different types of conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy,  down syndrome among others.  She is qualified to work with speech language  disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, oral motor therapy as well  stuttering, voice and cognitive disorders in children from the ages 0-21.   She has been working for 9 years and has worked predominately with preschoolers  and school age children. Ivette Garcia has had experience working in different  settings such as school, home and centers.  
  
  
        Lindsay Rodriguez.  Lindsay Rodriguez, born in Lima,Peru, is currently a full timestudent and employee of Therapy by Design. Lindsay has been with TBD since September of 2008 and previous to this she was a VPK teacher for children ages 4-5 at a private school. She has always known a career involving working with childrenhas been in her future but thanks toher experience at TBD she has solidified that notion. As of August of 2009 Lindsay will be a part of the FIU school system pursuing a Master’s Degree in Behavioral Therapy.
