Speech Therapy is design to help individuals who are experiencing speech/language, swallowing, cognitive, voice and fluency difficulties. Speech-language production, comprehension, obstacles with cognitive or thinking processes, and swallowing impediments are some of the diagnosis a speech pathologist will remedy.

Speech Therapy may be applicable at any age level. It encompasses specialized treatments through the use of retraining, compensatory stimulus, and adaptive techniques.

Who can benefit from Speech Therapy intervention?
People who experience one or more of the following:

Functional Limitations. The individual needs functional assessment and training, and
environmental adaptation due to:

• Flow or rhythm such as in stuttering
• Problems with voice quality
• Articulation or phonological problems
• Difficulty producing sounds
• Difficulty communicating needs (expressive language)

 

Swallowing difficulty.
